喵~~~前一陣子，有個英文網友說他想看這個故事，當時貓很有空，所以就翻譯成英文，雖然翻得有點亂七八糟，貓知道有翻錯，但懶得改了。就貼過來做個紀念。日文直翻英文還挺累的。至於中文翻譯半途而廢了，因為有段激情戲，翻成中文實在尷尬。

Chapter1

  “Alan Humphries, time for dinner.”

  A room in Shinigami Haken Kyokai. There was furniture that could meet a person’s daily life need. William carried dinner on a tray. He opened the door and walked in. Usually, it was the co-worker of soul-collecting department who sent dinner to Alan.

  Alan was so surprised that he stood up from the chair.

  “William-san”

  “I don’t want to eat. Please take the food back.”

  William put the tray on the table. Alan was confused but anyway he began to put food into his mouth.

  At that time, Grell and Roland looked at the screen in the monitor room. The screen reflected William and Alan.

  “Is Alan all right?”

  “Eric-senpei has been dead for twenty years”

  Eric attempted to collect one thousand souls. The sins he committed were terrible enough to put him to death. Alan was involved in the case but he didn’t take part in the crime. Alan’s name wasn’t on the list. The Shinigami Haken Kyokai didn’t have enough talented reapers in soul-collecting department. After they examined his cinematic record, they decided to let Alan alive.

  However, after waking up, Alan tried to kill himself by his own deathsythe. Therefore, he was put in house confinement in London Dispatch. Shimigami could live for a long time. Twenty years were not very long for them. All Alan had been doing was recollecting someone during twenty years.

  “It seems to early to let Alan have his deathsythe.”

  “But the victim is “HIM”. Maybe it’s an opportunity for Alan-senpei to face the reality.”

  The two couldn’t hear what Alan and William were talking about from the monitor. They zoomed in the scene on the screen and focused on the place where Alan finished dinner.

  “Thank you,” said Alan.

  Alan looked back at William, who was sitting on a chair not to far away from Alan. William still wore a poker face. Maybe William had a demand. Alan thought busy William’s intention wasn’t just bringing dinner to him.

  “William-senpei, do you have something to inform me?”

  “Yes, Alan Humphries, I made a decision.”

  Willaim pushed up his glasses and walked to Alan and stood in front of him.

Alan also stood up spontaneously.

  “Alan Humphries, I want you to get back to your job.”

  “Ah…”

  “But promise not to do anything foolish such as using the deathsythe to harm yourself.”

  “Yes.”

  “OK.”

  William took out a piece of paper from his pocket and handed it to Alan.

  “The victim is ‘Eric Slingby,’” William just said those words and then got out of the room. Alan’s fingers couldn’t help but trembling. He opened the piece of paper that was folded in three layers and moved his awkward fingers. Slowly opening it, Alan read the content and he was attracted by it.

  A record of detailed death date and reason were written after the brief profile. “Eric Slingby”… the assignment William gave him for reinstatement is “HE”. He wasn’t someone having the same name. He was Eric who had been reincarnated into a human.

  I can meet Eric again…even if Eric doesn’t remember anything about me, I’m looking forward to meeting him again. However, Eric is a human now. He is just one of my victims… one human on the death note. It’s a hard time for me to get over the pain of losing him again. If I don’t complete the assignment, it will be an ultimatum for my reaper career.

  Alan made up his determination. His fingers stopped trembling. He needed to get his deathsythe, which he hadn’t touched for twenty years. Alan got out of his room and walked to the soul-collecting department.
